Paprika’s Christmas card donation goes to Nourish Community Food Bank
It’s sad to think that whilst most of us are stocking up for a Christmas filled with food, drink and festive luxuries, that there are some families in the UK struggling to make ends-meat. In fact, 2016 has seen a rise in the numbers of low income working households and many food banks across the UK are reporting record high numbers of people needing emergency support. For this reason, Paprika staff voted to give this year’s Christmas card donation to our local food bank – Nourish.
Nourish deliver emergency food bags to individuals and families within Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas. People can be referred to Nourish for many reasons and they work with front line care professionals such as: health professionals, social workers, family liaison officers, housing support workers, keyworkers, police, voluntary agencies such as CAB and Age UK TW.
In addition to the Christmas card sum, employees also organised a food collection at Paprika HQ. Staff generously donated kitchen supplies, bathroom essentials and animal feed for those furry friends that also fall upon hard times when their owners do. We delivered this boot full of supplies to Nourish at one of their busiest times – Christmas!
There are food banks all over the UK in desperate need this Christmas time. if you are feeling inspired and would like to donate, find a food bank near you using the following websites: the Trussell Trust, the Family Food Bank, Netmums, and Medway Food Bank.
